The Process

A building technique dating back to the Pre-Renaissance, our velvety Marmorino Veneziano finish, also known as Venetian Plaster is achieved through many hours of workmanship - an intensive process but highly rewarding.

An armature is crafted from timber and marine-grade plywood to form the basic shape. The frame is then prepared for application of three individual layers of plaster mix.

Each layer is allowed to cure and once dry, finessed with a final burnishing of steel wool to get the texture just right. The final layer is meticulously perfected and sealed with a matte satin resin sealant for protection of the surface against staining and UV damage.

Our fine plaster mix is not only unique in composition, it's also ecologically friendly and sustainable - made from crushed marble, a by-product from stone cutting and processing. The final finish is smooth to touch and earthy showcasing feint textural details and highly durable for everyday use.
