Terms & Conditions

  1. East of Baku (us, we, our) is a brand of Kaiser International Pty Ltd which owns the trading name and website 
  1. By using our website, you acknowledge our Terms & Conditions (Terms) completely and agree to be bound by them.
  1. Orders:
    1. Online purchases must be paid in full at the time of ordering.
    2. Trade orders require a 50% deposit on ordering, with the balance paid 48 hours before delivery.
    3. East of Baku reserves the right to accept or cancel orders made through our website and restrict quantities if we deem necessary.
    4. Sales campaigns/ discounts/ offers are at the discretion of our company and can be cancelled or changed at any time.
    5. Certain goods may be out of stock or subject to long lead times. Lead times specified on this website or in a quote or invoice are an approximation only and can change at any time. We will update you if there are changes to a product ETA. If we cannot fulfil your order, we will refund you in full or provide a store credit, which ever you decide.
    6. Cancellation or changes to delivery times must be made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled delivery. We will endeavor to deliver at a mutually agreed timeframe but unforeseeable circumstances such as traffic, weather, etc. can impact delivery times.
    7. It is the responsibility of the customer to inform us of any obstacles, hazards, stairs or other such hazards that may impair delivery of goods. Additional charges because of these factors may apply.
    8. Someone over the age of 18 years must be present to take delivery of goods at the delivery address supplied by the customer at the time of ordering.
    9. We cannot hold goods for storage. If goods have not been delivered or collected within 14 days, standard market rate storage charges will apply.
    10. East of Baku is exempt from any risk or liability once goods have been delivered to your nominated address.
  1. Delivery times upon ordering are approximate, especially for pre-order items, and will be confirmed with the customer closer to actual delivery.
  1. Pricing and shipping charges are subject to change without notice.
  1. You agree to pay the listed shipping charges at the time of ordering.
  1. We do not store your credit card information. For online orders, payment is processed through Shopify and we are not liable for any damages or loss if fraudulent activity occurs.
  1. Customers are required to inspect goods upon delivery. Any damage to goods must be reported to us within 48 hours, otherwise we are unable to take responsibility for damage to goods.
  1. Interior Designers and trade customers must make payment on behalf of the customer; customers you represent/ have been hired by, and must not make any additional warranties or guarantees beyond what already is specified by East of Baku.
  1. Warranty:
  1. We offer a 2-year structural warranty for domestic use, such as for personal, household use only with light usage.
  2. We offer a 1-year structural warranty for commercial use, such as for business, industrial, commercial, hospitality and other non-household use.
  3. We offer a 12-month warranty on upholstery. 
  4. ‘Structural warranty’ only applies to the frame or structure of the item and excludes the surface of the item, any upholstery or decoration.
  5. Items made of natural materials or that are of an organic, raw nature may vary from display furniture or website images and variations to dimensions may occur. Such variations are not considered defects under this warranty.
  1. Warranty Void:
  1. Damage from negligence, abuse, misuse, unreasonable use, improper maintenance and care, exposure to water, sunlight, damp or salty air, chemicals, accidents, or spills shall void any warranty.
  2. If we deem that the item has gone beyond normal wear & tear, the warranty shall be voided.
  3. Failure to care for and maintain the item as per our care instructions shall void the warranty.
  4. The item is placed on an uneven surface, uneven floor boards, tiles, stone and warps, cracks or otherwise changes it's original shape due to the uneven surface, the warranty shall be voided.
  5. If an item is relocated from the original delivery location by transporters not approved by us and/or there is inadequate handling and packaging, the warranty shall be voided.
  1. We cannot guarantee a perfect 1:1 colour match between samples, display items and images due to technical limitations.
  1. Custom/ One-off pieces/ special orders are sold on a final sale basis.
  1. Ex-display/ hire piece are sold on a final sale basis.
  1. We allow payments on our website through third-party payment providers/ payment platforms such as ZipPay, Afterpay, Klarna, etc. Any complications, discrepancies, payment blocks, processing issues are between the payment provider and customer obtaining funding from said payment provider. We take no responsibility for any transactional issues incurred by using these services

  2. Important: Please choose carefully as we do not accept returns, refunds or exchanges if you make an incorrect selection. This is supported under Australian Consumer Law.

  3. Our furniture is handmade using traditional methods. We do not use precision laser cutting tools in production and there can be slight variances in dimensions by a few millimeters. Given this and the fact that the chairs are made from wood there is always a possibility that the wood will warp due to humidity; expanding the timber or drought; contracting the timber. This is absolutely normal for any type of wood product. However, it may cause a chair to 'wiggle' a bit and become uneven. If this occurs, we advise to put an extra floor protector under one of the legs of the chair to fix an imbalance. Please note that this is not a manufacturing or quality fault and East of Baku is not liable to fix or replace the item.
